On May 10, 2017 Deputy Chief of Mission of the United States Embassy Sir Michael Klecheski with his entourage: Sir Marc Jackson, Lt. Col. Mark Broekhuizen, Lt. Col. Mike Rasinski, Sir Ryan Smith and Ms. Molly Koscina visited the Scholars of the English Access Microscholarship Program in the campus. Prof. Magsaysay Werble, the OIC-Chancellor with the other executives of the university together with the Access Teachers welcomed Sir Klecheski and expressed gratitude for the embassy’s support to TCTO in the form of scholarship of which 50 high school and college students have benifitted from the said program, and the materials which are archived in the university-based American Corner.
The team also visited the American Corner located at the second floor of the sabdani J. Bulante Hall.
The American Corner has books, maps, posters, periodicals, materials produced and published by the U.S. Department of State, CD-ROM, audio and video tapes, and online databases that provide a wide array of information about the United States.
In a short program prepared by the Access teachers, Sir Klecheski with his company discussed some issues about the scholarship program and shared words of encouragement in the conference room. The scholars were also given the chance to interact with the native speakers of English during the open forum.
